Start with the fundamentals
Skateboarding rewards patience and consistent practice. Choose a comfortable setup, check that your board is in good condition, and practice in a smooth, permitted area away from traffic.
Gear, fit and maintenance
Deck width, truck fit, wheel size and hardness all affect how a board feels. There is no single best setup for everyone: consider your riding style, terrain and comfort. Inspect hardware regularly and replace worn parts when needed.
Ride with awareness
Wear a properly fitted helmet and suitable protective equipment, respect local rules and other park users, and avoid riding in unsafe or restricted locations. Progress at your own pace.
